Credit system

Credit system in Indonesia is using an unit named SKS (Satuan Kredit Semester – Semester Credit Unit). Ideally, one unit of SKS for master’s level program is equivalent to 4 hours of weekly activities including class lecturing, work assignment, and individual activities.

For master degree, the minimum SKS requirement for degree completion is 36 SKS of courses, which consists of 12 SKS each semester including thesis as final project.

Master Program is normally completed within 1.5 – 2 years of full time study including the completion of a thesis project.

Academic term

The academic year is divided into two semesters. The first semester runs from August to mid-December while the second from late January to mid-May. Each semester lasts 16 weeks. Some schools/faculties also run a short semester during the end-year semester break between two successive academic years. Graduation ceremonies are held three times every year, i.e. in October, April, and July
